A few days later, the author died. Madeline L'engle wrote many books that invoked in me an appreciation of science, science fiction and faith. She drove me to read more science fiction but ultimately made me fear writing any. She's hella funny too.
Cheers to Madeline L'engle, my first SF attempt will be for you.

Dame Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop died recently due to a massive brain hemorrhage. She was very involved with environmental and human rights issues, pushing for products not to be tested on animals and sourced materials from poor countries at the same time provided them with jobs. Doesn't hurt that she was able to make profit out of this too. Truly the epitome of a renaissance woman. I can only hope to be as brill as she was.
